Looking for some honest advice. Considering an offer with SocGen B’lore for Specialist Software Engineer position with 5.5 years exp and into Tech service management. Could you please tell me a bit about following points?
- I see 25% of the compensation(5Lakhs) is Variable. Does company even pay 60% of it at the end of the year if you perform say 4/5 rating?

EY hard pass right now, not the same collaborative firm it used to be; sharp elbows all around, a lot of questions on the current leadership.
Hearing the same and in certain regions, it’s dire. For eg. 5 partners chasing a $200k opp in FSI in canada.
Sanity check: the direct admit process at my firm is pretty arduous. To go through that three times concurrently to have three partner offers in hand would seem almost impossible. How did you pull this off?
PwC1, you nailed it 😀
Why would you leave? Is it money? All of them have drawbacks. Out of the three I would pick the first one … and only that one.
Haven’t made a decision at all… just got reached out by headhunters and trying to understand what it might look like …
Head hunters reaching out is not the same as having offers
Agree….original post was a bit misleading! Headhunters are “desperate to network” and show value and unless “exclusive engagement in a real role” I do not even talk to them (they are mostly networking).
How are the offers?
Equity partner roles … but want to know more about the culture and what to expect in terms of work, client relationships etc
A&M is an eat what you kill model… no triple counting… if you are a solo hunter and can sell (not prominent here) go for it.
Why would you leave BCG if you aren’t going to MB?
Like others have said - A&M is the best from a comp potential but you need to be ready to confirm work on your own and with minimal support. If you can do that then you will crush it
B4 Partner here and have been pursuing opportunities with three different firms this year, received written offers from all three. It’s still active and firms are still making moves.
Offers are consistently materially higher than comp in current firm (homegrown Partner). Culture, performance metrics, independence and go to market are vastly different across the three.
