Have a better offer from another big 4 but I dont feel confident enough to negotiate for a higher pay at my current firm (cont)
Hi guys, I have a final interview with one of the big 4. Current exp is 5 years and current fixed CTC is 13 lpa. Wanted to check what for this exp, what is the average salary at big 4 and what can I ask for?
Business Tax Services at KPMG vs STS at PwC vs Quantitative Services at EY (Fixed assets, r&d, cost seg, etc). I am looking to make a move. I was wondering is there any growth within the quantitative services team? Is it a boring job? Which Big 4 has stronger Business Tax Services practice?
My new employer has given me $400 for WFH office expenses. I already have 2 monitors, a decent office chair, keyboard, and mouse. What should I spend the money on?
Social media/community manager looking for a job or temp work remote or in NYC! Any tips for good agencies to find temp work?
Hi Fishes! I’m a newly promoted S1 in tax at a Top 10. I’m trying to join the Big 4 post 10/15 (preferably KPMG) Does anyone have any tips or suggestions to make it in? I had an interview with EY two weeks ago (before I was officially a senior), but never heard back, probably because they were looking for a senior lol. 😭 Thank you so much everyone!

Any insight into Mastercard Advisors? Have a new grad opportunity there. My start date at a B4 strat got postponed so decided to interview around. I'm interested in data + analytics and would want to go into industry eventually, but conflicted because unlike BA programs at CapOne or Visa, you're still working for an external client. Feel like there will be a broader variety of projects in B4 and while I'm casually interested in fintech, I don't want to get pigeonholed in FS so early on
Looking for recommendations for solo trips where I could “work from home” and enjoy exploring after hours. I live in Colorado currently. Anyone doing this and may have recommendations? Thinking of flying to San Diego first.
How do you recommend dealing with senior supervisors that are workaholics and don’t respect remote work schedules or different time zones and suggest late night 9-11:30pm slot calls on weekdays for non urgent matters?
Does anyone know of any DC area agencies are embracing full-time remote/hybrid right now?
9 YOE, program management, cold apply is sucking out my soul. It feels like an endless steady stream of shitty ATS data entry. Out of 50+ apps I’ve gotten 3 call backs, 2 FAANG, and 1 B4. Unfortunately none have ended up working out (namely due to leveling and location). LinkedIn and The Muse have been my primary source but I feel like nothing is materializing. Any suggestions on sites to look or alternative resources?
Got an offer to move to another B4 strategy practice with a title & pay bump (15%). However, most of the work is in an industry I hated working in (financial services). Is it worth making the jump for a year if the ultimate goal is FAANG?
Planning to do a PRM or FRM qual. How useful is it to move from Big 4 Risk and reg consulting to industry? Finding it hard to get anything other than non-PM roles
What's the best laptop for remote access? I need to buy a new one to boost work from home
Advice for a junior associate lateraling after a rough first year of practice? (Start at the new firm next week)
I’m leaving consulting for a flex data role (bi / engr / analytics) at a startup. I’ve been in consulting 3 years, and my salary went from 100->120. I was happy until I started reading some of the salaries out there..How are people finding jobs with 150 // 175 // 200? What can I do to make my background more desirable for employers? I don’t know what I’m interested in yet, but I have been enjoying exploring data architecture and algorithm development
Considering an expert role in healthcare in mid Atlantic region at McKinsey. Any thoughts about culture, wlb, tc, etc? Have read through a bunch of older threads. Opinion seems mixed. Negatives mentioned include more intense work hours than integrative track, second class citizen, slower career progression, lower pay than integrative, harder to get staffed on engagements, poor integration into teams, and subpar exit opportunities. Also read this is changing. Would appreciate recent thoughts. 🙏
My firm recently removed the CPA requirement to make manager in FDD stating that it is following the market. Being a CPA is definitely better than not being one but will it hurt my exit opportunities if I decide to not pursue my license? Do companies outside of public accounting even care that much about having your license / are others seeing this same trend?
If you're billing the same rate, you should get the same salary bands regardless of geography.
How hard are apple interviews?
For those of you who attended a FT MBA program, what did you do when you were not in the classroom? Besides traveling, partying, studying/homework, interviewing, etc. Were you often attending events to network, getting lunch with faculty, enjoying a hobby, something else? Thanks! *Repost*
Interviewing for jobs right now and all of these places have interview processes with 4-5 rounds. When did this become the norm? I am exhausted and all of my “doctors appointments” are starting to look suspicious.
Anybody have any insight (good bad or indifferent) about Davis Wright Tremaine in NYC? Any word on their remote policies, comp, hours, etc?
95% +Utilization, got a 4 of 5. (no raise, no bonus). I was benched last year due to awaiting my clearance (missed utilization) and got a 3 of 5 with a raise and bonus.
Coming from a big 4 - Can we mention the names of the clients we have worked with over the years when interviewing? I am at a boutique agency now working with some people who came from Accenture and some other consulting companies and I noticed that they will reference their clients by brand name. If it is a past project and you do not give any client sensitive information is it OK to share the names of the brands that you've worked with in your previous role? What's standard?
Does anyone use their personal credit card instead of the corporate Amex to build their own points?
Perks of GT over a big 4?
Struggling heavily with mental health amid the crisis, due to loneliness and the gradual realization that we're really in this for the long haul and things likely aren't going back to normal for a long time. Zoom calls help a little but not that much and the constant barrage of people talking about 'the new normal' only makes it worse. Any tips/advice?
I’m so confused about if business travel is really going to be frequent this fall due to the COVID cases rising….
Plan to go to B-school in 3 years (1 year out of UG now). Long term goal is entrepreneurship. Have offers at a MBB firm for a generalist consultant role and at FAANG for a strategy role. FAANG offer is slightly higher (though both are a 50+% bump on my current comp). Both would have me reset to entry level. Which one should I take?
How much can one expect for Consultant role in Deloitte USI with 6.5 YOE. ? Domain - SAP ABAP
