We had a customer make some extremely dangerous threats, and we also had to call the cops on them. Had staff meetings after that to address the situation, and if they were seen again, they are to get a manager who will then refuse service.

Yeah totally!
A guy came in drunk, started yelling at the hostess, then shoved a server. We comped the damage and called the cops. After that, we shared his photo with staff and posted a quiet note by the host stand. No drama, just boundaries. It sucks, but protecting your team has to come first, no exceptions.

Definitely agree with that! Protect your staff as a priority!
We did a couple years ago, it was one of the best days I've ever had at work. The guy was a super rich regular who was a complete pain in the you know what and rude to all our staff, and the owners always let it slide because he spent so much money. One day he took it too far, made one of the servers cry, and started in on my manager who came over to try to defuse things. Manager was already having a bad day and completely snapped on the guy, told him to GTFO and threatened to call the cops if he didn't. It must've been the first time in his life anyone had ever stood up to him like that, he looked so shocked. Haven't seen him since.

Good for your manager to stand up to such a jerk! Just because he’s rich doesn’t give him the right to act like a child having a tantrum. Rich people sometimes are so entitled.
