Oh yeahh.. so many times.. Salary matter too much in nowdays. I’ve skipped applying to roles just because they didn’t list a salary range. At this point, I value my time and transparency, if a company can’t even share basic info like pay, it makes me question how they operate. It really should be standard by now.
I’ve skipped listings for that reason too. It makes me wonder if they’re hiding something or just unsure what the role is really worth. But I also think some orgs leave it off because they’re still figuring out budgets or expect to negotiate. Do you ever reach out to ask, or do you move on right away?
Not really. I think if the job aligns with what I'm looking for, I wouldn't let that stop me from applying. I do agree it's annoying, but I don't want to eliminate myself from a potentially awesome opportunity before knowing all the details.
Not solely because of the lack of range, but a combination of that and red flags in the description. It's incredibly frustrating that posting accurate salary bands isn't required. It'd save everyone so much time.
In places where it's not required I think a lot of companies just see no need to post it. There are enough people looking for work that they can lowball anyone, knowing someone else will take the offer. If things turn around, that would change, companies would realize they need to post a decent salary to attract any talent.
