That is like going back to a man or woman and that dumped you. No way
Hold on. How much are they offering?
Exes are exes for a reason
Stop thinking about this as a relationship. It’s business. Do they offer you enough for your time, skills, and headache? Take it. If not, decline. If you do take it then don’t become lackadaisical. Keep looking for better options because you know they will be.

I am near 7 months into unemployment and I'd have no issue with going back to IBM. Unlike when performance related, my departure had nothing at all to do with me as an employee and colleague, my manager made that abundantly clear. I'd have just as much job security there as getting a role at Microsoft or Google. Job security has been a myth for over a decade, we just tell ourselves "it won't happen to me."
The main consideration that I would have is that I wouldn't get severance a second time, though I have every intention of building back savings to cover a year's expenses regardless of where I land.
Wc😅.

I did and the company got bought off by a bigger corporation. Took less pay but my commute is 80% closer to home, which sort of evens out. Hopefully this acquisition was a good thing, time will tell.
