I’m currently in the process of being converted from contractor to permanent. In my initial conversations I was under the impression that I was in a different pay grade and asked for a salary 25k higher than the max allotted for my position. Currently going through divorce proceedings. I honestly don't want to date anyone right now but I have this fear that I'm already 28 and I'll never meet anyone good. Case 1: complaining about a date insisting on picking up the check as it makes them feel less independent.
Case 2: agreeing on 50/50, then being upset about why the date never picks up the check or treats them after 3 months of dating

In both cases, posted 5 days apart, they were advised to find someone else as it seems their date doesn’t respect their values (case 1) or value them enough to spend money on them (case 2).

After you are stealth laid off, other than job search, what do you do? I assume they won’t give you work and even if they do, you can politely decline? Will be moving to the Bay area for a new job which pays a bit under 200k. I know SF is very expensive so just trying to gauge what would be a reasonable amount to spend on rent. I have no debt and decent savings. Bringing my car with me and will be commuting to Marin most days, but looking to live in SF. Otherwise tend to be fairly frugal and like to cook.

Anyone here regularly practice in Alameda County Superior Court? This is my first time in that particular court and I could use some advice as to the procedure for requesting an informal discovery conference. Local rules don’t provide a whole lot of guidance on this.
