Ringing that bell tomorrow. No hate to my firm, but we have a kid during covid and it’s hard to work two jobs and be a daycare provider. Plus, no job makes me as whole as being a father.

Old employer arranged a WFH contract deal where my contract is on par with my current pay. Have to pay both sides of FICA taxes, but I control my time and know I can be there for my wife and kid when needed. Keep grindin’ y’all! ✌🏽

I feel like i want to be done with the human race. Before COViD I truly liked people, my work, and I had good friendships and hobbies.

Now, I just want to turn my back on my career, as pros in my field are never trusted or valued. I’ve lost interest in hanging out with people other than my GF and my dogs. So much entitlement in people today.

I’ve just had earth shaking levels of disappointment in life. Two divorces. Five of my close friends and my favorite dog have died in the last two years.

I was diagnosed with ADHD a long time ago, and because of the low severity of it and the affects of adderall I decided to not be medicated. I think with WFH and Covid times it’s gotten a lot worse for me and I’ve noticed my work performance tanking and my anxiety rising in public accounting. I know this is normal for people in PA who don’t even have ADHD, but does anyone have any advice??

I’m hoping to move to a coastal MD town in the next 1-3 years (from Philly). There don’t seem to be many job opportunities, if any. My plan B is to work remotely, but I’m worried that the available opportunities won’t allow for growth or promotion. Does anyone have any thoughts or experience with working remotely in corporate law (outside of COVID of course). At the time I move I’ll have 3-5 years of experience at an Am Law 100 firm in M&A.

I am taking another sick day this coming Monday. It's necessary for both my physical and mental health, which are severely compromised due to the stress of this insane school year (and the last one, and the spring before that -- I think this is cumulative with COVID, the political situation, etc.). I have never taken this many sick days during ANY school year in my 20+ years of teaching. Is anyone else experiencing this? Is anyone else having anxiety about taking so many days off?

The interview happened last month first week and documentation process also completed. They have given a verbal offer, but no offer letter as there are still doing some audit and compliance on the earlier employments. They have yet not reverted. What should be done in this scenario. Received mail from RM of Accenture before joining.

“Things to do before you join:

At a later stage, you will be required to submit original documents with your wet signatures. You will receive more information as you progress.”

Can anyone share how much time is provided for submission of original documents and how it’s being done for new joiners with virtual onboarding?

What’s the best way to share unpleasant feedback? I’ve seen many people be direct and rude, sandwich negative feedback, and transparent but polite.

I’ve worked with managers who share negative feedback in a friendly, non-degrading way in the past, but lately, I see more blunt and harsh - is this an industry norm? Was I just lucky a few times?

Will be moving to the Bay area for a new job which pays a bit under 200k. I know SF is very expensive so just trying to gauge what would be a reasonable amount to spend on rent. I have no debt and decent savings. Bringing my car with me and will be commuting to Marin most days, but looking to live in SF. Otherwise tend to be fairly frugal and like to cook.

Any thoughts/suggestions are greatly appreciated!
