I have an interview with Korn Ferry for an associate principal role and am curious about others’ experiences have been with work-life balance here. Also, I have an idea of what I should be compensated in this type of role, but any insights on how they pay compared to others would be helpful. How much stock do you put on benefits? I have two offers with stark differences in benefits. Job 1: role I want, but benefit sucks (2 weeks paternity leave, 20% coinsurance). Job 2: role is okay but higher level and great benefits (16 weeks paternity, 0% coinsurance, 5 more days of vacation). Total comp is the same though. I wonder if I should just focus on role but Job 2 is a large company, so I can move around after 2-3 years I’d expect. Thoughts?

Received an offer at 300k/year and a Google offer at 200k/year.
I wanted Google since I started the whole interview process, but I am now not sure given the salary difference.

The position at Google is more junior and the team is just being formed, which involves more risk. However, I like the team at the other company.

The difference in salary is really considerable to push me to rethink this. Is it worth it? Can you share your experiences of when you accepted a lower job offer and why?

When an organization is not adequately staffed, be sure increase the number of meetings to address how to allocate people. Forcing negotiations at multiple org levels around the same decisions will ensure everyone is totally aligned.

This accomplishes three things:
1) Everyone is mad at each other since they’re competing for people
2) They’re confused and not able to pay attention to the root issue of chronic under staffing
3) They’re distracted from blaming mgmt for the root cause.

We all had the same responsibilities, I consider I even had a heavier workload (talking in past tense since I very recently made an internal move).
Things to consider:

What would you recommend doing?
Keeping it to myself?
