A couple years back someone at my company interviewed two tenured female employees about their journey (career path, obstacles, work life balance, and advice they would give to other women who were just starting their career) and then wrote articles about them in that months newsletter. They also held a virtual gathering that focused on the powerful voice of women in popular music. It celebrated female artists across multiple generations and multiple genres and showcased female empowerment through times when women weren’t thought to have a voice in a world dominated by men only. It was actually quite fun… they had a whole playlist of music that played throughout and kept the mood upbeat.
Not really a celebration suggestion but look at what resources are available to all employees who are caregivers for adults (for example people caring for parents.)
The reality is this will predominantly be women, but men have these responsibilities too.
I have stories being published on our company app every week, highlighting a trailblazing American woman. Each story is about 2-3 short paragraphs, and I have a diverse selection of women.
Besides what I’ve written, nothing else is being done to celebrate Women’s History Month. International Women’s Day is March 8, and I have a different post ready to go on our company app.
The theme this year is Women Advancing DEI, so my company is putting together a panel of women employees who do that.
