I’m an L&E associate entering my 5th year at a mid-sized regional law firm (approx. 400 attorneys). Barred in PA/NJ. Billed 2100 last year but my requirement is 1950. Should I try to lateral into BigLaw or should I try to go in house? Are either of those realistic options for me? I seem to be doing a significant amount of municipal law too, which is not what I expected or wanted at all. I want a life but would also hate to take a pay cut. Interested in L&E. Advice?

Hi all! I was thinking about changing industries. I am currently an underwriter for for-hire transportation with 7.5 YOE. Wondering what others have found to be transferable skills or if anyone has made a career change. Also curious what other career paths other underwriters have gone on (possible changing departments or line of business, etc). Any info or suggestions appreciated!!

Anyone know of any non clinical PA positions or options?

Surgical PA with 2 years of experience (1Yr general surgery, 1yr ortho)

Got a recent offer for a surgical orthopedic trauma PA. Looking for advice on determining goal salary and negotiating. Hoping to accept an offer by the end of this week .

Would love any feedback, I’m in NYS and the position is at a level 2 trauma center in college city type area.

Hi! I’m from the Baltimore/DC area. Does anyone know of any Physician Assistant positions that they would recommend? Currently working in Urgent Care but my contract expires in November.

I'm considering training to be a PA. I'm coming from a slightly different vertical in the medical industry. I know salary is variable depending on location and lots of other details, but what could you expect starting out in a MCOL city?

Any PA’s in the Union County, NJ area looking for a new job? I work with 3 Neurosurgeons and we are looking to hire an additional PA. Currently have 2 staffed.

Physician assistants in Chicago area/surrounding suburbs. What specialty are you in and what is your salary ($/hr)?

I’m a brand new PA trying to find a job in dermatology. Does anyone know new grad friendly employers? Or are you looking for an awesome pa? 🤩 open to locations.

Has anyone regretted their decision to become a PA instead of a Physician because we end up doing mostly the same work but for less pay? I'm considering the extra education

Just accepted an offer with a psych startup. Not exactly the offer I was hoping for as I’m taking a slight pay cut ($73/hr) and it’s a 1099 position. I keep getting stuck on the 1099 piece because I’ll be working 40 hrs/wk, but have been told I’m not eligible to be a W2 employee. Needless to say, no benefits whatsoever. They don’t even provide a computer or any other remote equipment for the completely remote position. Am I making a mistake? Also, can anyone chime in about being a 1099 employee?

Ortho PA in CT with 1 yr of experience. My time is split between OR and office. Coming up on contract negotiations and wondering what people in the specialty make ( even better if you have similar experience).

Reposting: Looking for PA’s and/or NP’s for Neurosurgery practice in Union county NJ with OR experience.

Currently a medical assistant and considering the PA route. Living in Canada where the PA profession is relatively new (not as many specialities for PAs as the US, and salary is lower). I’m nervous about future burn out and unfavourable working hours - any advice?

Does anybody work for Banner Health in Phoenix area? Would you consider the system to be PA friendly any other insider insights welcome!

Could use some insight on what the average salary is for a PA in philadelphia? Could you list salary and specialty please? Im in gastroenterology and IBD.

Renegotiating my contract and curious about maternity leave policies at other practices/hospitals. Do you get paid leave? If so how much time off & are you getting full pay? We are a group of about 75 employees, 6 docs with 5 PA’s and only unpaid 12 weeks off.

What is the standard billing for a surgery PA? I read somewhere it’s 20 percent of what the MD bills for but I’m not sure how accurate that is?

Anyone have experience with retention bonuses? Wondering if the terms are negotiable. I work for a large academic medical center, for context.
