You should go to school and use the GI Bill, get involved in clubs at school, look at relevant certifications and get involved in the community (volunteer for Habitat for Humanity or something).
If you are set on a blue collar job, maybe look at a relevant trade school to attend.
Good luck!
I went straight into college with the GI Bill after I got out. I got lucky and found a part time job teaching drum lessons at a small veteran owned music store. The owner was a Marine Vietnam veteran. It was hard though. I had to manage my expectations because in the Navy I was used to working on the flight deck of an aircraft carrier and nothing before or since can compare to that.
it just depends on what you’re looking for…
are you going to college?
if you have a relative BA or BS, i know someone who’s hiring
I already went to college. My resignation was from the officer world. I have my degree in business.
It can be normal. I read that you were an Army Officer and already have your Bachelor's degree. What did you do (MOS) in the Army? You might be able to leverage that into civilian words and experience to land a job. But more importantly, what do you WANT to do? You need to figure that out Demarcus, instead of just trying to land any ole job. You have the GI Bill so you can go back for a Master's degree or a trade if you so choose. I do believe you will land something eventually, already having your degree. Did you gain a security clearance while in the service?
What do you want to do career/job wise ?

Demarcus you need to be on u employment right now, yes you qualify for it. Second you need to be enrolled in a university or CC unless you already have some significant experience that allows you to find a job. This is a bad economy, go use that gibill which you’ve earned.
Yeah, I came out as an officer I thought it would help more but of course it’s not
Very normal. Connect with people who work at the companies you’re interested in and the recruiters for those companies.
I went through the same angst when separating in 2008(bad year lol) but found my way through dm recruiters and having friends who worked for those companies push my resume.
