Hello! Looking for some advice here. I currently work in a role that I don’t find fulfilling or interesting. I have an MBA and a range of insurance experience.

I’m interviewing for a role with CNA as an underwriter. Salary is better, and it seems like I’d be able to learn a lot more than I am currently. Benefits seem pretty good as well. Before joining Marsh I’ve worked for other carriers.

I’m happy to elaborate where needed.

Thanks in advance!

What’s the advice you’re looking for exactly? You’re looking for a position that you will hopefully find more fulfilling, so it seems you’re on the right track. I wish you the best of luck.

Thanks for commenting. The advice or feedback I’m looking for is around each companies reputation, growth, and thoughts on going from broker to carrier. I had a cap on how much I could write. Sorry for the vague post.

Hi everyone,

I’m currently looking for opportunities in Dubai, preferably with Marsh or in the insurance industry. I have worked as a Senior Claims Analyst with Marsh in Mumbai and have 2+ years of experience.

I’ve also completed my MBA in Digital Marketing from the UK. If anyone can help with referrals, contacts, or openings, I would truly appreciate it.

Thank you!
Aarti Dhotre

Hi everyone I am relocating to Hyderabad next month. Even though I look forward to meeting new people I can’t seem to ignore the fact that I will move away from family. My family situation is already complicated, my mom and dad are not on good terms so we don’t live together and when I move it’ll get worse. I am financially independent but I feel guilty for not being there for them. Is there any possibility of getting transferred to Gurgaon office(a lot closer to my home)if I talk to my manager?

I found a company I was really excited about working at. I applied for the job and went through 5 rounds of interviews. At the end they said I was OVER qualified and they want me for a different position higher up in the company. I was super excited they then had me go through 5 more rounds, 3/5 people were the same. The interviews mostly went "didn't you get the job, I highly recommend you? I'll just put you down as a 10". After those were done they told me I was UNDER qualified. Can't win!

I've done so well in this new role within the company that they are hiring another person to assist with what I do. I've voiced to my boss that I'd like to manage this department and they indicated that this is the thought for the future. Now they are asking me to train this person while I have my plate full. Is it wrong for me to expect either a promotion or to be paid to train this person?
