You know they no longer count PTO against utilization? They changed that like 3-4 years ago

There is a specific version of utilization that accounts for PTO which is used for variable compensation purposes

It's not changed at KPMG, it's just that there is regular utilization (which is out of total available hours, including PTO etc) and adjusted utilization where those things are subtracted from denominator. Used for different purposes.
I believe there are versions of utilization where one type is your core and the other type accounts for training and PTO. The second metric is what is used for calculating variable compensation.

Tedious. Let's put it this way: if you use all your vacation how many weeks does that leave you of bench time before you miss your util target?
The lower one effects your promotion case. The higher one effects your bonus.
People look at adjusted. PTO does not impact your performance review.
