I had an interview w/ the Hiring Manager at Boston Consulting Group for a position and it went so well that the HM said on the spot I was going to be moving onto the next round. Its been weeks since that interview & I've had to follow up w/ the recruiter 3x asking for an update. I mentioned interviewing elsewhere but prioritizing BCG. He finally responded to that saying he was going to debrief with the HM and get back to me but nothing... what gives?
Need 11 likes to DM. Can you please help me?

Accenturejob2018@gmail.com. I’ll help you out and refer you
Sorry to hear it OP- depending on where you are at some offices have a lot more technical roles in demand in our technology and digital practices which can provide some good job security depending on your specialities
^thanks. I’m based in Chicago and would like to stay here. I don’t have “technical skills” such as programming or anything, but I know a lot of roles for digital don’t require those skills
I actually interned at IBM back in the day, in S&T. You have my sympathies. If you're looking to stay on the strategy side of things, Technology Strategy with our Strategy practice might be a good fit for you. Pretty competitive to get into but seems like there's a strong push to bring in more talent since we're selling projects faster than we can staff them
Otherwise, there's Accenture Digital you could look into
Black box - use your network and find someone at the firm who can refer you if you want any chance at a call back. Unfortunately with just 1 yr it’s very very unlikely (bc they only hire out of univ) plus you would start over as a new hire
Applying to jobs on LinkedIn or without leveraging your network to get your name in front of people that matter is likely a waste of time. Search for alums at your school and reach out to them directly to ask for a chat
Cool I’ll look at it tomorrow
Do you want to stick closer to the stratgy bit, or the digital bit?
^i think I’d prefer strategy but I need a job lol
Curious as to why you want to jump ship from IBM to ACN?
I got laid off :/
^thank!! I’ve just been applying to the jobs in LinkedIn. I guess next step would be to look on the company website to see if there’s any differences?
Black box?
^thanks!!! Just sent you my cover letter and resume
Given what I know about IBM consulting, think you’d be a better fit in MC and not strategy.
What’s MC?
MC = Management Consulting.
A4, check your preconceptions at the door. While I agree IBM GBS doesn't have the strongest people in general, there are still plenty of talented people there
I’ll do either of those. At this point in my career I’m still trying to figure out what I like and don’t like. So I’m pretty open to anything
I’m not trying to be pompous, just being realistic with OP. Better chance getting into MC
Is management consulting more like people/organizational structure consulting? Versus digital or strategy consulting...
