Nope. I think with the 80K offer ( I think referrals only now) it is a very solid offer for $95 annual fee.
Tbh if you look into the details the annual fee pays itself pretty easy. In reality it all depends on how much you like to travel since the rewards are heavily geared towards that. Personally I like cash back and the flexibility of it, but that's just me.
Yep, happy to refer for the 80kbonus. Rlly pays for itself at 95 bucks
Southwest and American Airlines are good ones if you travel a lot. I’ll refer anyone!
Depends what your spend looks like.
Amex Blue Cash Preferred is amazing for families that go on road trips, as it has 6% cash back (six!) on groceries, transit and streaming services and 3% on gas, with $95 a.f. (waived on the first year).
I should clarify: *transit* is not *travel*, so you only get extra cash back for subway, bus, bike sharing, taxi, Uber, Lyft, etc.
Since I live alone, I have since downgraded this card to the Blue Cash Everyday and got the Amex Green (which works out great, but has a $150 a.f. so it’s out of scope for this question)
I really wanna get this one also, was considering this one because I travel a lot
I have the chase sapphire reserve that costs $550 a year. It’s absolutely worth it if you travel a lot. You get $300 back On travel a year, global entry fees covered (once every 5 yrs), 3x points on travel and dining and access to some nice airport lounges.
I love my chase sapphire preferred way more than my capital one venture, BUT I would say if you don’t already have TSA Precheck or Global entry, the Capital One Venture may be the way to go. Similar bonus to chase preferred, but you can get TSA precheck or Global Entry paid for every 4 years. And it’s also a $95 annual fee.
I actually don’t know whether someone on a Visa can get precheck..you probably need to research that one. I actually don’t think either of them provide lounge access, or at least not that I’ve used. KPMG’s diner club card (our corporate card) gives lounge access to some lounges so I usually just use that instead
Amex Platinum is probably the best truly travel-oriented card (especially if loyal to Delta, but lacks in basic spending areas) - happy to refer for 100K bonus points
Not that you’re wrong, but OP asked for <$100 annual fee.
Amex gold! Way better point structure on everyday spending and better built in protections/security. Way easier to deal with amex customer service over chase’s too.
