But my company wants to retain me and they are giving me an opportunity for Canada onsite in return of retention(no raise or bonus)

PwC 🐠, I interviewed with the firm about 6 months ago for a Senior Associate position on the forensics team. I wasn’t extended an offer because the position was given to an internal transfer, at least what I was told. I tried reaching out to the recruiter I worked with last time but the email bounced back and wouldn’t be delivered. I was hoping to see / reapply if the group still was looking for seniors.
In your opinion, would it be best to reapply as a cold application?

I tell them that my salary is negotiable based on the work scope and expectations of the company, as well as opportunities for growth. I ask them to toss a figure since I'm unaware of what each institution offers since companies' rates are different based on size and industry.
I've come across small companies paying similar rates, if not higher, relative to the larger ones, but expectations are totally different.
If they lowball you from the getgo, why even consider proceeding? That may be in indication of that employer's values and I wouldn't want to work at a company like that.

I just tell them I appreciate hearing the salary range for the role, that it’s difficult to give them an amount without knowing the role and company better.
YES! Always ask for the salary range so you know what the budget is for the position.
I would ask what the salary range is for the position and iif what you are thinking fits in that range, then I would say that the range is acceptable and can be discussed further in the interview process. I def wouldn't give a number until you know the budget for the position. I saw something the other day where a recruiter hired someone for 80k for a position with a budget of 110k and the reason she did so is because that is what the person asked for in their interview. Great for the company but not so great for the person being underpaid.
What bank and position?
