There was an guy who came through my line a few times a week and I actually became friends with him, my husband invited him over for dinner and after that, the customer would tell anyone who would listen that I made "the BEST spaghetti," LOL it was just jarred sauce with hamburger. He passed away not long ago. I miss you Eric <3
At this point, anyone who is even remotely polite counts as a positive interaction lol
Had a customer tell me that I saved their day. Their problem was a pretty simple fix so I didn't feel like I did much but that was nice to hear
Once a customer came in arguing loudly because she thought her credit card was canceled, but it was just expired and she hadn't noticed. The next day she sent me a bouquet of roses with a letter saying "sorry for being a Karen". It made my day.
When I worked in a cosmetics store, I would always help a 40-year-old lady choose the recommended colors for her skin tone. My job was to sell, not to advise, but this lady was a bit worried about having neglected her appearance for so many years, and I was touched. So she took it upon herself to ask when my birthday was and sent me a birthday cake to the store.
A woman came through my line around Halloween with her nails painted like candy corn, I told her it looked awesome and I'd always wanted to see that; she laughed and said "I know, you were telling me about it last week and I thought, why not?" It looked amazing, by the way. Maybe a bit of confirmation bias but I think I was right!
