Hey everyone, Being a die-hard Ferrari fan, I am planning for my 1st ever Monza GP this year. Some tips from someone local or who has already been there by sharing their thoughts & insights would be really helpful. Some basic tips, dos & don'ts, beautiful/exciting things to look out for in general, especially as a tifosi, tips for cheap accommodations & transport, suggestions for 2-4 days travel before/after the race weekend, etc. Thank you for all the suggestions! ;)

Stay in Milano, there are trains that drop you off right at Monza (10 min walk to the track) stay an extra day in case Ferrari wins / makes podium (I flew out immediately after the race and missed the celebration which was nuts)
Thanks for the tips. From how the season is going right now, I won't expect much but it's a long way ahead in the year and as a believer, I hope for the best and wish that it's gonna be memorable!
Lots of questions above and so many directions to go, but you’ll have a great time.
You will walk a ton over the weekend so be prepared. It’s in a large park so there are trees everywhere. I’d suggest getting a bleacher ticket or at least be able to see a screen to know what’s going on.
We only had GA tickets and had a close to the track spot on the inside of parabolica but I didn’t really know the status of the race other than 1) the ooohs and aaahs from the crowd based on what the announcer on the loudspeaker said in Italian and 2) by mentally noting the running order every lap that they passed us (and noting how many seconds between cars).
This was 2019 when Ferrari won, though, so it was an absolute blast to be on track for the podium (and parabolica was close to the finish line so we got there pretty quickly).
The other cool thing to see is the high banked turns of the old track. It’s inside the track and there will be at least a few ppl walking to it at all times throughout the weekend. Kinda hard to find but you’ll get there and it’s very unique. Maybe watch the old movie Grand Prix beforehand
Sounds like a great trip! I have not done the GP—but you can always spend a couple of days in Milan or do lake como. The Alfa Romeo museum is in Milan—along with flagship Ferrari clothing store. And of course the last supper. If you have not been to Modena and maranello then you should definitely go there to see the Ferrari museums. It is a short train ride from Milan to Modena. Easier to get to maranello if you have a car. Maranello museum is right by the factory so you will drive by the gate. You can also go to pagani and Lamborghini in that area. I did the Ferrari museums last November and it was great. I tried to tour IMola—but they cancelled my tour because they ended up filming some of the Enzo Ferrari movie there that day. Have fun and if you want any recos on those areas feel free to reach out!
For the last supper you will need to book a couple of months early. So watch online and book when available. In Milan you can also see the cathedral which is impressive. The imola tour is a tour of the track. https://www.imolafaenza.it/en/eventi-if/guided-tours-at-imola-racetrack/ the Bologna/Modena/Parma area has amazing food. You could also do a day in cinque terre if you like hiking/wine/great ocean views. Or you could do a few days in Florence which has great art and food etc. hope you have a great time!
