Hey guys at Amazon, I applied for 12 months contract SDE role and got my interview scheduled.
Any idea what's the difference between contract and permanent employee..
Differences in leaves, perks and allowances , bonus etc??
I was told based on my performance I will be converted to permanent employee.
Is it worth taking the risk? What are the do's and dont's I should follow when going for that contract role..

Don't go for contract roles. They won't give you much respect. You are not eligible for any of the perks given by Amazon. Check for PF, health insurance, notice period, contact period. For contact payroll, they won't give any of the above. Secondly, when you try for next company, many try to take you as contract not direct payroll. Altogether your profile gets damaged.
Better check under Amazon community in fishbowl.

I think first crack the interview, then think about the contract, I have heard interviews in amazon are tough nowadays
Can you guide how’s the difficulty in 1st round and what they asked questions
I think if you are on amazon payroll then you will get all the benefits and perks(if any). Better talk to hr after your technical rounds

If at any stage the recruiter asks fir some money, it's a scam.
They never asked for any money bro. They are verified and genuine people and verified with my friends in amazon.
Even my friends don't have any idea about contract roles.

I would suggest go for permanent role, not sure when company will kick you out there site if you are contract employee, how well you perform, when you are in need ull be treated as contract employee
Few years back I also got similar offer. 9 month contract for amazon. A third party contacted me and sent to amazon office for interview. Compared to interview from past for full time role this one much easier. Don't remember who would have given the salary, amazon or third party. I was also told based on performance it can be converted to full time also.
Didn't take the role for a full time role at tcs. Not sure yet if that wss the right decision.
I have accepted a similar offer.

No it's a direct payroll under Amazon but contract role for 12 months.
