So there were two main resources that I found most helpful for the Google interview. One is this https://igotanoffer.com/blogs/product-manager/google-product-manager-interview which gives a great high level overview of what to expect.
The other one is the Product Alliance courses, namely the Hacking the PM Interview course. Something I’ve noticed since conducting interviews at Google is that the interview candidates who get offers are able to lead interviews while those who needs lots of guiding with granular follow-up questions don’t. There are a handful of videos in that course which kind of teach you how to “lead” an interview which was extremely useful. Their Google specific deep dives course was also good cuz it included a list of questions you are most likely to get asked. One of the hardest questions I got in the final round was almost word for word from that list. If you end up getting the course, let me know and I can send you the videos I found most helpful.
Practicing to make sure you're not rusty is also really important. Remember, PM interviews are quite different from your day to day responsibilities as a PM and thus you shouldn't just wing them. I found mock interview partners on Lewis Lin’s slack channel and even did some “practice interviews” by applying to companies I wasn’t that interested in just to have additional practice opportunities. Hope that helps! Best of luck.
Thanks, this is super helpful!
Product Alliance was huge for landing my Google PM gig -- I read their huge interview strategy guide cover to cover like every day in the week leading up to my interview. Tons of videos about Google too (many from Googlers). Expensive but you get what you pay for!
Yeah, I've heard really good things about Product Alliance but have been on the fence for about a week now because of the price. Just pulled the trigger on their course bundle cuz it's on sale. I'll report back in a few days on the quality/value of their content :)
Remember that you’re interviewing them as much as they’re interviewing you.
That's a good point, thanks!
https://vrlps.co/rGEYsaw/cp that's a gift for you. The PM Lesson course for interviews
All in all I believe combining their theory above and the practice below every day at 6PM PT would be best
