Seattle is clearly not the problem here
Notice your recommendations were to go up a hill… 😂
Seattle is an outdoorsman paradise. Honestly if you’re not into that you’re in the wrong place.
How new are both of you here? It’s a joke to ask what’s around here unless you truly are living under a rock.
Are you adventurous? Go Ski! Or Snow shoeing Hikes?
Like shopping? Get some retail therapy between Bellevue and Seattle. Arguably Bellevue is better.
Want to race a car? Go to race track… it all depends on what u want to do. You might be hanging around people that doesn’t do anything. Find a different group or go back where you moved from
Seattle is full of so many companies with opportunities.
I’ve lived here my whole life.
I will say that you’re in a good place
If you’re in the tech industry.
Not trying to be rude but your comment comes off as slightly close-minded and a little jaded.
Where are you from and what are you looking for
Seattle is snooze, no culture minimal arts
I tend to agree with this. I have lived lots of different places and this just isn't it as far as things to do and things to see.
All of these recommendations are generic city stuff. With the exception of walking up a hill, every city has this stuff.
Seattle is an AI generated city with no real character.
Where is the unique food? Where is the unique experiences?
This city has world class mountaineering (among other outdoor activities). I think your problem is that you don’t like what’s unique about Seattle. I’m not sure what you’re looking for.
Sounds like a skill issue. Find what you enjoy and go do it and you’ll find people there. Like exercise? Find a local studio and become a regular. Like crafting or want to try a new hobby? Go to one of the many local craft meet ups or if you have $$, get a membership at a studio and take classes (pottery, glass blowing, painting, etc.). Like trivia / drinking? Find a local bar and become a regular. Like art and live entertainment? Check out the free art walk in pioneer square on first Thursdays, our local museums, and live jazz at the new jazz spot in pioneer square. I could go on - there’s so much around here if you put in a bit of effort to find it 😅
There's tons of stuff, you just got to be specific in what you're after. The Seattle Opera, The Paramount, Neptune, The Moore, etc. always have alot going on, if you want culture.
Like hiking? Travel an hour in any direction.
Food? Seattle or Tacoma.
Pick up a copy of The Stranger to find out whats up this week. Its not a ghost town.
Chief
People hibernate in the winter. They are all in a state of seasonal depression. When they leave the house it’s to survive, eat, drink, work. Summer time comes and all the out of shape bears exit their dens and rush to do something before winter sets in again. I’m out headed to greener pastures next month.
Honestly as someone who is not an outdoor person, I also find entertainment options to be on the more limited side.
