There have been surprising news with layoffs lately. Has anyone here been affected by the layoffs at Twitter or META?

Best backup plans if you get fired from a Big Law firm within a year or two after graduating? Go to a non-BL firm and then try to lateral back into BL?

I think I have work trauma not sure how it’s clouding my ability to make decisions. I’ve had unstable work after being laid off from a company 3 years ago. I thought I worked out a plan to get to a stable place but my job is proving to be unstable yet again. I secured a FT role at another company but because it’s a lot less money I’m unsure because I feel very cynical about companies in general. I assume it’ll be just like all the rest but now I’ll just be making less and could get laid off.

What’s the best way to negotiate more money during a contract to FTE conversion? My manager and I had the conversion convo today and he said he’d like to convert me immediately and took the action item to do so. In terms of comp he said they should already have what I’m expecting but I don’t think I communicated any FTE number to my contracting company.
