I'm looking to find a job like the Forward Deployed Engineer role Palantir Technologies in the UK.
I have become hooked on finding a job that involves solving the kinds of problems they presented during their interviews. Although I got to the final round my performance anxiety got the better of me (I think I wanted the job a bit too much...). I will reapply after working in a similar company.
Is it "deep tech" / "data science" or "smart enterprise" that they're doing? Any advice welcome.

Global function that supports research for our client facing studies. Roles can vary widely within the function. What role are you considering?
Thanks a lot for your answer. I saw there are several analytics related roles but later realized this is under C&I and the pay is much much less then other specialist role. Like 50k~ less. Have been told still client facing, so very confused..
As SC1 said - this isn’t a consulting role. You could be placed supporting a project or two most of your time, or doing various research tasks for a Practice or several projects at once. The hours are usually nicer and I think pay is a bit less (but may be incorrect).
The people who do these roles though are amazing and super friendly. Saved me a few times!! Definitely an asset to the firm and we’ll respected!
As SC1 replied below - it’s usually not client facing. They gave a great description so no need to repeat ☺️
Answering here - Yes, you could be on teams that are client facing, but the role itself is not intended to be a client facing role. It is an internal support group, that used to be called Research & Insights (R&I). Recently, due to increased client demand, many C&I colleagues were fully staffed on projects. While that is good exposure, to your point, it’s not what you are getting paid for. It’s a short term issue that’s being addressed but also created opportunities for colleagues to move into consulting roles.
Finally, yes, there are analytics roles within C&I but also through our DnA practice under Expert path. That looks a lot more like consulting work, with more competitive pay.
