Do they think Texas will go the way of CA? Ie/ zoning and artificial cost inflation due to supply constraints by the govt? Working for a big insurance provider and currently at a grade 6 individual contributor role and want to get a grade 8 manager role. Managers make 40% more than my current salary on average. Is it crazy to think I would get offered that because it’s a senior position? I know 10% is a promotion raise at the company but that wouldn’t make sense jumping up 2 levels. Thoughts?

In my organization, most with my role are commission based. I make a set salary due to the firm I work for as an account manager/ coordinator for clients… I coordinate their enrollments, working with each groups HR department as to benefits and payroll purposes, and schedule our benefit counselors accordingly. I am finding that in most cases where I compare the voluntary benefits industry, I might be underpaid. What is an appropriate base salary for a position in which commission is replaced?

Ok this is a weird question.

I have a puppy of 5 months old, he had diarrhoea since 3 days. I went to the vet and they gave him metronidazole, an antibiotic. He just had his first pill.

But: I have to go to a dinner for an hour or 3 this evening. I’m afraid to put him in his crate while he’s having diarrhoea.

Can I do that? Does the antibiotic work fast? Or should I let him out of his crate so he can go to the puppy pad if needed. I never let him out of his crate while home alone.

I’m a CRC who manages Investigator- led clinical research projects and I want to transition to a PM role in industry (I would slightly prefer not a PM role in clinical trials since I don’t have clinical trial experience.) I’ve applied to PM roles at many biotech companies (e.g. Charles River, ICON, Paraxel) but only got 1 interview which didn’t work out. Which companies should I look to for an entry level PM role? Any good startups to consider? Anyone have any insight or advice?

I have interviews coming up at BD in Maryland and, coming from the hospital world, I have no clue what salary to ask for. The position is a scientist/quality role for microbiology research and development. For context, I have 4 years of experience in a hospital blood bank and am a certified Medical Laboratory Technologist. I was thinking in the 65-70k range, but the recruiter made it seem like that was easily attainable so I’m worried I’m asking too low. Would 75-80k be do-able?
