Hi all - curious to know how many of you have gone through PMP certification? I have heard that it is pretty labor intensive / costly and want to make sure it is worthwhile. I work in Marketing and am not sure if it is applicable in my industry.

I can attest it is a very labor intensive process with ongoing costs of time and money to maintain your cert. In some industries like construction, pharma, even certain tech, it is much more important. For marketing I would say not so much, unless you're working on massive multinational programs.

The new format I think is very generic for any role where you are managing projects. I just took it (and passed!) few months back and there was maybe 1 or 2 math questions, but vast majority were all more emotional intelligence related. It is a time commitment. I did a udemy overview course for 6 weeks, and then 6 weeks of practice tests. The PMI study hall questions were helpful.

Go for it. PMP is not for construction or soft dev anymore.
I usually advise to spend 2 hrs x5 business days x 4 months to properly prepare for the test.

A couple of months ago I left consulting for a Director-level position with a team of five people (all new hires). About a week ago one of my employees (project lead) told me they feel overwhelmed by work and cannot deliver on the level they’ve been hired for. We’re talking about “downgrading” them one rank to allow for future growth into the role, but curious to hear if anyone had a similar situation and how you dealt with it?

I’m a senior in their last year of earning their bachelors of science in nutrition and exercise science. I’m not interested in being a personal trainer or doing athletic training. I’m trying to get a high paying job in the medical field, something that pays over 70k in salary. I was going to do PT but changed my mind about it. Being a transfer student, my GPA went down to about 2.9. I still have this semester and fall semester to hopefully being it up a little. What careers should I consider?

Anyone hiring those who have been out of work for a year? I took time off to tend to personal matters, but I am now looking to get back into the workforce again. My previous experience includes time at B4 audit up to senior level and then transitioned to manager in industry. Senior/manager roles are preferred.

I don’t mind audit. However, I’d prefer it not to be at a B4, as I am looking for some semblance of a work life balance.

DM me if you have something above, thanks.

Hi all,
Need an advice. I am confused between doing masters or learn tech stack and increase experience and salary.
*My primary goal is to earn more.*
If masters I have to do in US or UK, so GRE, GMAT.
If for learning and tech experience I can learn tech stacks.
But I am confused between this.
Could you please tell or suggest what would be a better choice? Is doing masters in US or UK is a better ROI or be in India and gain exp and earn more by switching?
Currently I am a Java developer.

If they don't provide development project, what are the options I have? If want to leave, how much duration I need to work here? Will it affect in future if I leave the company as I will be changing two companies within a year? Please advise me...

I’m worried if I look for more senior PM roles I will feel the same. What other options could I explore and has anyone else had a similar experience?
