Hi all,

I am 2021 B.E graduate in Mechanical Engineering. I wanted to get to core industry, but at that time I couldn't get into as there were fears around about covid. I got selected and joined for a service based IT company as they were hiring in bulk at that time. Now as all know things are moving slow in IT, I have been kept on bench and I too lost interest here to work.

This made me to feel like I made a mistake by joining here and wasted 1.5 years. Currently, I am clueless on what to do

I was in core mechanical and there are no growth opportunities or the salary that you would typically get in IT. And slowly I was able to change and pivot.

I think unknowingly you made the right choice but you just have to utilise this to your best interest by upskilling in your domain and look for opportunities outside.

Sometimes I feel like to go for MBA, or stay here learn new skill and try to get a job in IT itself.

I couldn't concentrate on one thing as, I tend to get confused whenever I start working this.

Please, can anyone guide me on this regard.

Hi everybody! 😊
I've been working as a Junior Analog Design Engineer for a year and half.
I received a proposal for a Senior Analog Designer role from Bosch in the same city where I am currently working.
Should I wait and build up a few more years of experience before accepting a Senior role or should I jump in and work to fill the gap?
Next year, there will be an important deadline for the project I'm working on and my resignation could be critical for the team, how would you deal with it?

Hi! I have worked in management roles in tech, mainly in analytics, for approximately 10 years. My TC has fluctuated (currently around 135K CAD), but it seems like it's relatively easy to breach the 100K bar, but hard to breach the 150K bar. I now work at the CBC, but I have worked in the private sector too. What is the most realistic way to move to 200K? 1) Continue moving the ladder to a VP position, 2) Switch to Pre-Sale, 3) Switch to Consulting, 4) Work from a U.S. company from Canada.

Performance reviews coming at the end of the this year and I’m wondering 1) if my salary is on par with what I should expect 2) how to approach conversations about raises and promotion with my supervisor. Thanks for any insights.
