I have a PhD in Biochemistry. I am interviewing at a small boutique law firm to be a science advisor for 1-2 years before taking the patent exam. The business is located in a high cost of living area, but my position would be mostly remote and in a low COL area.
I can find comp for patent agents in the area, but what would be normal for this in-between time?

Hello RSM coworkers! I am thrilled to be moving to RSM into a Scheduler roll. I just found out yesterday and want to be as prepared as possible in the next steps.
So here are my questions.
How long does the background study take? I'm guessing admin staff have a study that is faster and less complicated than someone in Tax ect.
When training at home what did you need that wasn't supplied by RSM? My home office is well stocked but I want to be as prepared as possible.
Thanks in advance!

80k at senior consultant is very high?
Dm me? SC1
McK BA gets ~50k and McK Asc gets ~95k with only Bain and BCG really paying more. 80k is a lot higher than Big 4 - you’re not being lowballed!
No - McK goes BA -> SBA -> Associate -> Engagement Manager -> Associate Partner -> Partner
Associate is stereotypical MBA or experienced hire entry point. Therefore, it’s at least the same level, though potentially higher. Plus MBB generally pays more than other consultancies.
Also the phone gap between the uk and us exists for us too. My salary would double or triple if I go to the US. For context, the average uk graduate starting salary is £27k vs significantly higher in the US.
Loving how the author is leaving all of us here guessing what they meant :p
Hahaha - it was a sunny day here. I had to step away from my phon. Sr/Senior consultant it is.

Can you tell us what st consultant level 3 means? 80k in London is typically mid level for a manager and lower end for an SM at big4
Thank you for providing that insight. I meant to say Senior Consultant. Level 3 is really just compensation level adjusted based on the home office
Sounds about right from what I’ve seen and heard. £80k in London is definitely a good salary depending on the lifestyle you live.
OP might be referring to FTI where it goes Consultant > Sr Consultant > Director
£80k is about right, and very good for London. Those with similar exp to you and not in MBB will be on £65k to £70k. Friend started on £36k as a grad at FTI.
