I am feeling the same exact way. Really trying to push through it for my kids, but I just cannot get into the swing of things this year. Usually I love Christmas but I have no energy.
Same
I feel the same way. The burnout is definitely worse in the winter. Caseloads tend to become more challenging this time of year as well. I’ve noticed friends of mine in different fields don’t experience the same emotional drain from their jobs, especially this time of year. Definitely not just you!
Certainly not abnormal to feel this way, especially this time of year. This time of year is often so pensive and deep for everyone, so we need to have active conversations around our feelings a little extra.
Don't feel bad about. It's completely okay to not feel "jolly" this holiday season. Life can be hard and if you want to sleep through the holiday then that's perfectly fine.
That's normal. You'll be surprised how many people. actually experience SAD during the holiday but feel like they have to fake a smile
As a social worker, it affects us a lot during the holiday because we are witnessing other people's hardships so around this time all of that can feel really heavy.
No one can invalidate how you feel. Just take a good short break if you can. Besides, I think you care a lot for this holiday season but you are just disappointed that you still have a lot on your plate.
No it is not bad at all. It sounds like you may be experiencing compassion fatigue or even a little bit of burn out. Take the weekend to do what is best for you and get the rest that you need.
Just know that God cares and will be there for you.
