What are the newest and greatest prototyping tools for UX designers?
I know Figma is a common one, any other ideas? I’m wondering if I should spend time to learn framer

Have an offer from a dream company but I'll need to go in at a lower level. Knowing that I can bring a lot of value to the company (read- I know my worth), I negotiated with the hiring manager to have a level/comp review 6 months after employment. If I hit all my goals (ie, prove myself) within that time frame, I'll get a promotion and salary adjustment.
QUESTIONS:
Should this be in writing in the offer letter?
How detailed should it be? I assume I won't know what goals to set till I start...

I’m doing my first UX portfolio on Wix. I have the case studies content drafted out, but I’m struggling with brainstorming wireframes/actual UI for my case studies. I make it a rule to look for dribbble/behance for inspo but only sketch when im not looking at things because I don’t want to copy directly.

I’ve tried using paper/thin markers highlighters, tried using procreate, and also illustrator/photoshop & a tablet. I keep running into issues where I feel overwhelmed. How do I simplify this?

Although the work isn’t under an NDA, I’m wondering if it’d appear more professional if there were a password. I have 8 years of graphic / web design followed by 8 years of pure UX. Currently WFH but live near NYC, making 140 base / 165 total. I think I’m due for a move and looking for 175 base / 200+ total.

I am product designer with a fair amount of experience (6yrs).

Recently was interviewed for a Sr. role in Booking but unfortunately the team finds me better suited as a core individual contributor.

I am also in the advanced stages of some lead designer positions in other companies.

However I am really interested in joining the team at Booking, especially because of the design culture.

What should be my reasons to accept or not accept the offer from booking?

Any tips for writing a self-review? I have low self esteem and think I’m bad at everything, so it’s hard to know what to put in ‘super powers’ and ‘areas of development’. I don’t want to point out all the things I think I’m bad. On the other hand, I’m not sure what my strengths are. Any suggestions?

I just got laid off an hour or so and I'm kind of feeling relieved about it. For other lay-off-ees, what were the next few months like for you? Is relief ok to feel in this climate?

Is it normal for a Product Owner to lay out specs for how a feature should work?

I thought that was my job as the ux designer to figure out the best way to solve a need. But I’m getting handed projects where the PO, and sometimes the senior designer has laid out exactly what should happen (components used, flow, etc) to design a feature. It’s really frustrating because I don’t know if I’m supposed to be speaking up on what I think or just do the UI work I’m asked to.
