Hi everyone, I’m currently a tax associate and just graduated back in May. I’m starting to feel really burnt out and dislike what I do and want to get out of accounting completely. I can’t deal with the hours and the strictness of billing time. My degree is in business admin (I concentrated in accounting) and want to try something else. I’m currently looking into marketing, diff. analyst positions, and some other stuff. Any suggestions/advice would be helpful! Thank you.

Pretty sure a degree in business admin is every undegrad business degree, nothing special there.

If you’re trying to break into something completely new, see if you can do a rotational program in industry. I know a friend at a *very large tech firm* who’s very successful in a rotational program - it hits up sales, accounting, marketing, supply chain and a few other groups

If you do well in one of those, I’m sure they’d take you in full time despite your accounting background

Which companies have best WLB, least stressed DS/DA roles? I’ve been suffering from some immunology issues and stress from work would worsen it, therefore I want to move to a company/role with good benefit (esp. healthcare) and great WLB (little chance of PIP, etc). Doesn’t have to be high-paying, as long as it can support my life (single) and long-term medical cost. Thanks in advance.

A good friend of mine graduated from Parsons this past summer, has degrees in Journalism and French, is a talented photographer and designer (which I feel I have a pretty decent eye for after working at a design-driven branding agency for half a decade). Any advice for her and/or shops/hiring managers/non-traditional job hunt tips to steer her towards?

I'm getting a MAcc to career change to forensic accounting. What opportunities are available to me with a data analytics heavy MAcc? I'm also tacking on 2 graduate certificates in Applied Statistics and International Economic Policy? For those in the field, would that be useful or not useful (i.e. waste of time)? I'm interested in investigations but also analytics, financial modeling, and expert witness services. Throw in salary potential for bonus points. I'll be getting my CPA, CFE, and CAMS.
