Hi everyone! Motivated second year Accounting and Finance student at Aston university. Looking for placement at the moment and I am struggling due to the high level of competition in the field. Not restricting myself to just this field and I am open for a business placement in general. I hold a certificate for excel, practicing using Sage and I'll be learning Xero through the help of my university. What else am I able to do to increase my chances of securing a placement?

For buy side analysts, are there logical career moves one can make after having a couple of years of working experience?

Do you usually do 20-minute, 30-minute, 45-minute or 1-hour Peloton classes? Before I got one, I felt like I needed at least an hour to get a good workout. But I’ve found 30- and even 20-minute Peloton classes to be really satisfying and tiring. I am worried though about being lulled into doing less.

Resignation - I recently quit my job in a very toxic environment and I’ve been here over eight years. I think I should write something to the owner in appreciation but can’t to seem to find the words because it’s just been so awful. I don’t want to burn any bridges. I had one of those VERY nonproductive days today. I think I accomplished maybe an hour of billable work, even though I had a bunch of stuff to do. I just came off a 300 hour month, and unexpectedly got a continuance on a deadline on Wednesday, and it’s like all of my motivation leeched out of me at once.

My American citizen 8 month old is on tourist visa in India; current stay runs out on June 7. Flying outside the country is a risk we don’t want to take w/COVID. Don’t want to overstay the visa either. So we applied online on eFRRO to convert his visa to X-1 so we can apply for his OCI. They didn’t ask for payment and message popped up saying watch your text/email for next steps. Anything else I can do?

I’ve heard salaries have gone up quite a bit in the midst of the pandemic and I’m wondering if this is true for EAs as well. There’s a myriad of data online about EA salaries depending on age/experience but I’m interested in salaries from jobs accepted in 2020/2021 specifically!
