My dilemma… I am an injury adjuster at a carrier experiencing high inventory that’s barely manageable. A competitor offered a higher salary and manageable workload. BUT, I would like to get into underwriting. I applied for UW position w/ a different carrier and they’ve made an offer. It’s lower than my current salary and significantly lower than what I’d make by taking the first offer. Do I take the high salary and stay in claims or go for UW in hopes it will be best in long run?

I'm feeling incredibly anxious and honestly depressed right now because of work. I had already been feeling demotivated and wanting to leave but I was told on Monday that I was being out on probation for one year (I am not going into detail on this). And now my manager is pressing me about finding a new project role as I have been on the bench for more than a month, and one possible one may require travel. I just want to get out of my job now and hear back from the 10+ applications I have now.

So I just started a new job in sales (B2B specifically). All my life I’ve been in blue collar jobs, military, then construction work ect. I don’t have much money saved to get myself my own business cards as I’m sure they are important to have, I’ve got all the info that I need to go out and start selling. Life sucks. So many things to worry about

I am a current Agricultural Technology student, I have loads of hands in experience working with hemp used for CBD products in a farm setting, looking to move into controlled indoor ag, but I have definite interest in the cannabis industry. I can’t even access info on this app concerning that industry due to my age.

How are experienced hires vs recent grads treated at top consulting firms? I understand that each branch of each firm will be different from the other and it depends on the leadership. But have there been any uniform truths that people have noticed?

I’m graduating in December, with a background in environmental economics and policy. Consulting didn’t work out this cycle. Made it to final rounds for Bain and Kearney but in the end didn’t get an offer. I want to recoup and try again, but I’m worried that once I’m out of undergrad the door will be closed to starting in consulting.

What can I do to make this happen? I have friends and connections at Bain and Kearney and the other firms as well, but not sure if it’s feasible now.

I am feeling lost in job. So I’ve applied for Accounts payable they offered 40k. I said why not to gain some experience. I didn’t even bother negotiating which I regret.
Fast forward I noticed that I was eventually handed everyone’s workload (AR & imports & duty and check coworker work + AP) Spoke to them about pay increase based on workload. So they raised it to 55k.. but I still feel underpaid based on the amt of work I do. I don’t know what my title or what to put on resume..
