It's pretty cheap. likely won't cover your venue outlay as they max each category, and they don't cover if you cancel. But if your florist goes belly up, or your photographer skips, you'll be glad you have it. make sure they have a rider that covers alcohol ( most do). You don't want to be liable if a guest drinks too much. Ask your vendors to add you to their COI in addition to the venue ( assuming your venue requires COI). Lots of offerings out there, but they really only come from two different underwriters. I believe WedSafe has no deductible.

ewed insurance is the one recommended by my venue and had no deductible.
We did in case of another Covid outbreak. Check the terms to determine what is covered. Our policy did cover the venue cost, or at least most of it. Policy was a few hundred. Pretty cheap.

Pretty much everyone excludes another Covid type event and just cancelling because you change your mind. I think the Covid payouts did them in.
I didn’t know that was a thing!
I did! My venue required it. We used WedSafe which is apparently the most popular option
Would not have a wedding without it. There’s places online but you can also get it through your homeowners insurance provider.
We decided to get it for our big day and it was totally worth it. You never know what might happen, and it's nice to have that peace of mind. A friend of mine had to postpone their wedding because of a family emergency, and they were super glad they had insurance to cover the costs.

We did and had to use. Had to change a venue and they paid all the additional costs, no deductible. Had the money before the event so we could use it when it was needed. We used ewed

If you're thinking about it, I'd say go for it. Start comparing https://www.insurancecloud.co.uk/ different policies to see what fits your needs best. Some cover cancellations, others cover damages or vendor no-shows. It's all about finding the right one for your situation. Plus, it might end up saving you a ton of stress (and money) if something unexpected pops up.
