Hi Fishes,
I am going to appear for a Machine Learning coding round for American Express. It is a hackerrank test and multiple candidates (including me) are joining via webex meeting. Does anyone have any idea on what I can expect in this round?

Short answer: if only onsite is your criteria that too in a couple of years: No.
Long answer: Reason is as lot of people are already holding Visa or respective approvals and waiting for stamping since 2020 started. They will be the first in queue for any new onsite requirements coming in. This is across all accounts in Tcs.
Laterals are generally given the chance for visa processing and all 1-2years after they join. So, even in the best case scenario, if you get your process started after the 1st year ends(as you will be a confirmed Tcs employee only after your FA ends) and get your visa approved by the next six months, you will still be blocked by the people ahead in queue. If all goes well, you can consider atleast 3-4years for onsite opportunity after you join.
Note: All the above explanation is based on the assumption that you won't be a target of the onsite related politics in the Tcs account you will be going to. In case you become a victim of that politics, well then add another 2years to the estimate above.
In TCS one of my friend's onsite opportunity was taken back due to pandemic, but they have promised an another in December if situations get better, considering these unprecedented pandemic time, no one give you an assurance of that. But yes, now TCS is absolutely safe to join is what I feel, but not sure about benefits and all.
I had been in TCS. They give fake onsite promises to almost half of the floor. Don't join if you only want to join for onsite. Get it in writing in offer letter just to be sure.
