Is it a bad look as a senior associate (on the path to manager within a year) to be driving an expensive car like a C7 or C8 corvette that is $70k+? I don’t think it is and here’s my rationale. I’m making over 6 figures, maxing out my 401k and IRA accounts with extra $ going to a brokerage account, I have a 3BR 1300 sq foot home with finished basement and garage for $170k. My two loans are only $240k combined. Heck most people spend more on a house alone. Work remote so vette isn’t daily driver.
Firm just required us to get a booster shots (presumably even to WFH). Advice on whether it’s worth stirring the pot and trying to avoid compliance? I’m vaccinated, but honestly just don’t want to get a shot every quarter, which is what the progression is looking like.
Whats the perks of working in KPMG India apart from CTC. I have come to know about Deloitte USI about various perks like wellbeing , wfh setup, mobile bill, wifi bill etc. Is there anything in KPMG India ?
Keep hearing that most exits in LCOL cities will take a payout if you’re a PL, but that there are a lot of roles that are remote, job market is hot, etc. so that most PLs are getting a pay bump. How do you reconcile these two?
Should I feel bad for not wanting to schedule meetings after 5 or ad-hoc? I feel like being remote has taught me how sacred time is and I’m more than happy to give my 8-5 to work but after that I just wanna be with family, unless it’s urgent of course. It really bothers me when people try to schedule things after 5 or randomly at like 7pm ping me asking if I’m free. No, I’m not.
Hello Everyone. Please let me know whether Infosys is actually giving permanent WFH. What about next year or next to next year?
Not sure if y’all have been in a similar situation but I’m staffed on a project that is mindless busy work and I feel like I’m not progressing in my career. Makes me ponder where I went wrong in life sometimes: How did I do a top-tier MBA just to take a step back in my career? My job pre MBA was way more analytically challenging. Not sure if I’m being super negative or are some of these thoughts normal? Is it WFH syndrome? Thoughts on how to cope?

In case you never got to see the New York Times article about air quality in classrooms, I’m posting it here for you. It makes some very important points about creating the safest possible environment for students and teachers. 1. Open windows if it all possible 2. Place air purifier centrally 3. Don’t place fans in a way where the air is pointed at people Have a great year and keep yourself and your students safe! https://www.nytimes.com/interactive/2021/02/26/science/reopen-schools-safety-ventilation.html

I’m new to the multi card strategies and such… I have the chase sapphire preferred as my only card right now because it had a 100k points bonus. Can someone give me a dumbed down version of the best steps to maximize points with multi cards and why? Does it hurt your credit?

Has anyone done the math about whether it is more cost effective to quit and cash out PTO or run out PTO and then quit in NYC?
Can someone make this make sense? TIA https://www.nytimes.com/2021/04/06/us/covid-vaccines-emergent-biosolutions.html
Hello Guys, I need some advice & suggestion on which Exec. MBA program would be best for someone with 14 YOE in Tech. I am looking for an Online program, as I can't leave the job. Comfortable to pay 12-15L for the course. Motivation is to learn and have a good ROI for future jobs.
Trying to figure out whom to leave assets to. I have a young child from a previous marriage. I remarried and current hubby and I are expecting his first baby. I don’t trust my older child’s father to use money for her responsibly. I would be leaving retirement and brokerage accounts and life insurance. I trust my mom 100%, so I am thinking of leaving the money to my mom for my daughter’s benefit. Should I talk to a professional? What are some considerations? Thanks!
Can I ask to roll off a 6 month project after three months even though I haven’t found something to roll off to? I can’t take another month of being on this project.
Is it work from home for all projects at HCL?
What was your "I know I'm done moment" that made you decide you were ready to leave consulting? I am at my second firm with a much better WLB but starting to question whether I need to just exit altogether. I also hear about many ex-consultants being "bored" in industry jobs so want to make sure I am really thoughtful about what it is I am looking for outside of a consulting role. I am over the hierarchy and politics in consulting but not sure it that much better in industry.
Anyone have experience in EY’s Enterprise Risk Transformation group? Have received an interview as a senior consulta and want to know what to expect and what salary range I should shoot for (in a mid COL city). Also would love to know about the type of projects and work life balance.
In ~5 weeks we have made the “new normal” normal. Going forward, please note “new” is silent. Why’s your fav quote for the day? Mine: WFH is normal.
I'm still wondering why the commercial real estate sector hasn't collapsed. Two years in it's clear WFH is here to stay-at most I could see some companies implementing a hybrid schedule. Regardless, the real estate footprint will be much smaller. Are building owners just trying to keep up appearances by maintaining high rents? It doesn't make sense to me.
