I was interviewed at EY UK on 7th Sep. It was quite smooth. Since then I haven't heard anything back from them though interviewer claimed SLA to get back with outcome of interview is 48 hours. On portal it still says I'm in hiring team phase. It was level 1 interview.
Should I take this delay as rejection?

75k basic will fetch you around 4k gbp per month approx.
1 bhk rent - 1500-1700
2 bedroom > 1800
If staying too far from main London(after zone 4) then rent can be reduced by ~200 gbp but will add up travel cost if not WFH.
Electricity +tax+internet+water = ~300 pounds.
Groceries for single person ~200pounds
200 for some other ad-ons
For a single it will cost around 2500 pounds per month.
Make sure to ask for accommodation from company for atleast a month. Looking for rent is a fight which is more tough than Bangalore.(streamline though ). People are crazy for getting a good house. So it’s a tough fight.
I was getting around 38LPA and moved to UK for a big 4 in 78K GBP package. The net savings per month has not increased in the nutshell plus there are lot of compromises in terms of lifestyle when you compare to India. Only benefit is client exposure and good schooling for kids. So I am finding it OK not great.
Thank you for sharing. Much insightful.
I was earning 30lpa in India and here I’m earning 70kpa, office is in London. In my perspective there’s no benefit of moving to UK in terms of quality of life. In most of the aspects life in India was much better and sorted.
Expenses are high in the UK, depending on your way of living and lifestyle. For a family, it might be a bottleneck, adding along with the above comments council tax, TV licence, broadband fee, mobile recharge 350gbp to consider. 75k is good pay, post TDS how much your take home? Atleast for next 2 years, your company might deduct charges for IHS, visa, transport etc as monthly. Private insurance tax, pension scheme to be considered as additionally.
