Any tips on how to navigate colleagues and clients that talk over you? I struggle with speaking up esp when I get interrupted or my comments get ignored then reiterated by someone else.

Working at a company and they can’t seem to hold on to their female, black and people of color employees. I blinked and 3 of the people who were in my onboarding class were either fired or they left. For context I’ve been in company less than a year and there are people who have been in the company 25yrs. I’m thinking of cutting loose before it gets to my turn.

Me: I don’t want us to have a confrontational relationship and I think we can agree something needs to change. When you make stupid decisions, that affects my business and it makes me feel like you’re not up to the job. That makes it harder for my team to do our jobs. I think to be an authentic leader I need to be radically candid with you and point our your mistakes. So are you willing to work with me on this?

Already spoke with a partner who wanted something done this morning for him to review and then we discuss again. Sent it to him about 4 hours ago. Should take him half an hour to review max. At what point can I check in with him to see when we can catch up so I’m not waiting in the office all day?

So am I naive for wanting to develop friendships with my coworkers? It seems like everyone has a life outside of work and as much as we talk about being collaborative and teamwork, no one on my team actually wants to develop friendships. Is it pointless? Like I don't want to waste my time but I do think the work culture would be more enjoyable?

Need advice - I've been talking to a Partner contact at a big-4 firm where I REALLY want to work. She sent my info to the managing partner in my city, but I haven't heard anything for about 3 weeks. How do you deal with imposter syndrome? I'm a new therapist and I work with a bunch of women who have been doing this for ages. They're all really sweet, but I can't help feeling like I'm way out of my league. I have a CD that gets extremely flustered when you ask them for their opinion on a solution. For example after showing them multiple color pallets and CD not quite liking any of them (real Goldie locks moment) i suggested why not we do (fill in three colors here), the CD freezes up and gets annoyed because they don’t want to say yes or no without seeing it in front of them. Working on tight turn arounds and a cd who is too busy for meetings it proving tough with remote working. Any tips?

I recently joined a product company and not happy with project.. There does not appear to be any planning in team.. And wlb is not great..

Let’s talk suits. Do you have any thoughts on a junior associate wearing an expensive suit or a suit that departs from the norm (eg subtle pinstripe navy suit, or a suit with larger lapels/peaked lapels?). I’m thinking about upgrading my suit, but I don’t want to piss anyone off with a suit screaming the message “I’ve made it” when I’m just a junior associate. Perhaps it’s just all in my head and no one actually cares.

I took an offer for campus hire at KPMG in Tech Strategy(Canada) this summer however I haven't been able to get my salary before signing due to complications. My estimate is 62k salary.

Now applied to Deloitte Digital and got an offer for 65k CAD + 2k signing bonus doing Salesforce.

Would I be stupid not to take the Deloitte offer on the table despite already signing with KPMG?

Is it a bad to tell new case team members you’re a little more introverted? We do these team normings in the beginning of projects and I’ve mentioned that I’m more introverted to help them understand how to collaborate better with me.
