My end all be all goal right now is to eventually run my own private wealth management firm.
My question is though: Should I try to go straight into private wealth out of college and become a private wealth associate, or take a different route, and start as a base level financial advisor to get some general advisement background?

I’m at a mid size transactional firm. I’m a total night owl and my partners have OK’d me starting the workday at around 11am because I regularly work until midnight or later. I get so much more done after dark! I still get some side eye from other associates, but 🤷🏽‍♀️

Has anyone left big 4 or other PA firms tax transaction service groups for industry (or know of anyone)? What was the role and salary bump, how are annual bonuses/raises in industry, what is a typical work week (hours) like? I don’t think I can take this always on just to stay afloat life much longer. For context I am considered a high performer, am near the top of the salary band at my level and have a great supporting network at Deloitte. It’s just not worth it to have zero personal life.

Hi, I am interviewing for a role at @Scotiabank and I need some insight into the salary ranges for a Manager in AML Risk.

Is there such things as FP&A positions in Big 4? If so, are there better times to make the change than others (I.e. at senior vs manager)? I’m currently in FP&A and looking to work at a Big 4, or another company that offers the ability to move abroad. Read that McK is paying 2K higher than BCG this year which means BCG will probably raise again next year to at least match. However, they can’t just copy McK with 2K to match because that would look bad so they’ll have to beat it again. Then McK and Bain will follow. The problem is I've not mentioned couple of companies experience at beginning of my career since that experience is irrelevant to what I'm working now. So my question is how to answer if he ask what about other companies relieving letter and all?
