Hi, I am a 2020 passed out student. I worked at a startup as a Flutter developer for 1.5 years. I then joined Zoho as iOS Developer, had a really bad time, quit the job and again started working as Flutter developer. Some of my friends who studied with me are earning 2x more than me. They advised me to look for jobs at product based companies for any tech stack. Should I look for flutter jobs at Service based companies or look for jobs by preparing DSA and switch to product based companies?

When I joined my current company, we were on a quarterly bonus structure with guaranteed payouts each quarter. This was, in fact, how the recruiter said he could meet my salary request.

The company just announced we are moving to annual payouts only, with no payments for 2023 until May 2024. There are no raises happening.

This amounts to 12% less money in my pocket in 2023 plus inflation.

Is this standard, or should I be looking for opportunities elsewhere?

Started a new job a year ago, high performer. My manager suggested a promotion to Product Manager since that‘s the work I’m doing, but that would be a 50% raise. Higher ups decided instead to make a “new role” (not PM), that has no analog in the company and is hard to price via Glassdoor, etc. I feel like this is to limit my promotion salary to something like 10% from where it currently is. Is there anything I can do? FWIW: I have a PhD from top 5 program and am working in that field. Thanks!
