I've cleared two rounds and now the Hyd manager is telling me that if I move to Hyd otherwise they will not proceed with my application any further. Can anyone suggest to me what can be done here?

AWS cloud application architect. Had an on-site interview with AWS a few days ago and just got an email saying they want to talk to me about next steps. The role is cloud application architect but I want to ask them about the senior cloud application architect role. I have all the relevant experience for that role and feel like I’d be a better fit for that senior role. How should I approach this conversation? Is this even possible? Amazon
Please evaluate this initial offer for Apple ICT3. I think I was low balled, but I want to take more opinions. Currently Sr. MTS at VMware, received Apple ICT3. I was expecting to get to ICT4 but seems like team thinks upper end of ICT3 is more apt. Also, I think it is because I don’t have any counter offers yet.

No, unless you were getting laid off or had a toxic situation I’d stay put. The risk of landing in a bad situation is too high. Plus 2k won’t even cover the gas. 15% jump is about the minimum. Also, add some high demand tech skills and you could see a salary increase closer to 75-100%. That was my raise leaving a state government job. I took a chance on a 1 year contract and never looked back.
I would not, unless you are unhappy where you are. $2k will be gone quickly with gas and office expenses
And paying more for meals because we all know people spend more on restaurants when working away from home.
Add up wear and tear on your car. Commute time. Gas. PLUS you have to be in office where as at home you can multi-task. So the short answer is only you can make that decision, but if it were mine, not worth it for 2k.
Don’t do it. That’s like a demotion, and it sound like the hiring manager is not cool .
$58K x 2080 = $27.88 hr VS
$60K x 2080 = $28.84 hr
No
Hey buddy correct outcome, but let's correct one thing here if you don't mind.
$58k ÷ 2080 = $27.88 hr VS.
$60k ÷ 2080 = $28.84 hr
If you want to network with other people onsite and grow then switching might make sense but if you’re going to weigh in 2K, that’s nothing when you factor in transportation costs, lunch and time lost in commute with fatigue etc
I wouldn't do it for the money, accepting a 2k (a little under 4%...) salary increase when switching roles puts you in a bad position for negociating down the line. If you're doing it for the resume/experience required for switching employers, sure, go for it, but never forget why you are there. Don't spend more time in the role than you need to.
I have only worked from home for the last 5 years almost. Each time I’ve changed jobs, I’ve at least increased my salary by 35-40%, if not a full 50% increase.
I would weigh the entire benefits package. When I finished my degree I changed from a deskside service desk roving tech level 2 role to a Cyber Security Analyst role at a government contractor company for $7k more annually. I thought that was a good bump to move into the area of specialty. I'm actually paid LESS hourly now because I pay for benefits, which were employer-paid. And now I may work 92/104 hours a paycheck with how the week will fall within the pay period and before I was working straight 84 hours per pay check. It breaks down differently. Before, I was being paid bi-weekly but now I'm paid twice a month. There's a lot to consider in a compensation schedule.
It's tricky asking for more, also I'd never trade WFH for anything! Look at the bright side, a couple of years you will outgrow the Service desk position and become a Sys Admin or a Cloud Support Engineer if that's your desire. Job hopping will get you more but that's just me! I moved from $80k to $130k job-hopping.
$2k is about average what a person spends on gasoline in a year. Consider how much you would pay in payroll deductions just to bring that $2K home. I don’t think it’s worth the change. You likely will spend more in the long run that what you currently spend. Also, working on-premises tends to cost people more in food and drink than if they stay home to consume cheaper, home-cooked meals. Working from home saves money that way, too. I would not change from a biweekly WFH to an on-prem for only $2K salary gain.
i would take it. a job is a job. I have sent out over 200 resumes. nothing my way. i have had interviews but did not get anything. take what you can get for now and keep looking
