To my knowledge it’s possible to go straight from PE from where you are but a lot of investment funds like people with some banking experience. I work in corporate banking and did a short stint with the renewables group and loved it and my conclusion was my two best exit opps are 1) private credit or 2) IB. Again I would throw your hat in the ring and see what happens but if not look into corporate/investment banks with strong energy/utilities/renewables groups if PE is the end goal. Or maybe try private debt and see if you can eventually move over the equity side (is difficult but possible). Give it shot to go directly to PE! Also have you considered maybe consulting or big 4 as an avenue? Hope this was helpful.
Thank you! Very helpful! It would be optimal to skip the gruelling IB analyst experience on the back of sector knowledge and live deal experience. Will definetly throw my hat in though. Thanks again
