Hi all, recently in touch by Spotify recruiter for a Sec Engineer position for remote EU and was told that range was 60-80 out of base salary and equity. Had 2 years of security experience out of my 4 years. Was also told that there is no bonus scheme or no sign in bonus 😕 Not sure how I feel about this tbh.
What do you think?

I feel like hard days are going to come with any job. The trick is to analyze whether your "hard" days are outnumbering the "good" ones. Also think about the reasons you have your current job and if those align to your overall goals or where you see yourself in 3-5 years. I would say that with my current role (CSM) - I am genuinely happy logging in 90% of time. The other 10% typically comes from having to deal with a hard coworker more so than the actual job itself.
Nirwana is inside you. Start meditation.
For me personally there are a few factors; the team I'm working with, if I get fulfilment out of my work, and if I can maintain a good work-life balance (i.e. working to live as opposed to living to work).
In the past when these have aligned, I have had long periods of 'nirvana' at work.
It is definitely achievable, but rare and not always in your control.
Lightness and dark, yin and yang, up or down. Balance is the key. I do not think nirvana can be achieved by a job (especially in this day and age) it is a state of mind, body, and soul in total harmony and it is something that few ever achieve, so you may need to be more realistic and try to accept the highs and lows in life and strive for balance. Retrospect is also great to see the impact of small changes over time. 🙏 namaste!
I don’t think that anyone loves their job every single day. Even if you like what you do, there will be challenges, times of boredom… it is “work,” and the expectation that it will constantly thrill you is misguided. That said, it also should not make you miserable.
I endorse the comments about meditation; practice has helped give me perspective on the tougher moments.
