Sweaters and blouse/blazer combo are my go-tos. Comfortable but look professional on camera. Also seems like more tailored/fitted and darker colors look good on camera. Then leggings on the bottom ;)
Quince! I buy everything there now.
I always add earrings and a necklace if I’m working from home even though I wouldn’t normally wear those at home. Just makes me feel more polished and put together which impacts my mood.
Also I highly recommend a cheap ring light. Get a $20 one off Amazon and it will make a huge difference. Being well lit definitely projects a professional, polished image.
I always wear well-fitting plain tops (black or white, no designs or logos) that have a crew neck (not v neck). I work in a naturally casual environment so you may need to throw a blazer on to bring it together for external calls.
Nice long sleeve blouses usually work for me and are more comfortable
I avoid mocknecks and turtlenecks for video calls. For some reason it doesn’t look elegant. Instead I look suffocated lol 😆
I am a sweater kind of gal. Plain top (I really like the plain target brand cotton tops in many colors) and pair with a sweater or cardigan. I always have a cardigan by my desk in case a surprise call or pull up is requested. For me with tops because I’m on the shorter side (and extremely pale) I find higher neck options better. Even if it isn’t “revealing” I’m distracted by the amount of skin in the frame if a top goes to low even if cleavage isn’t showing.
