My father passed away last week. I had wills written up for him, he has a small c corp, and we don’t live in a community property state. Mom’s still with us, fortunately.
Besides informing social security, filing a life insurance claim, getting a death certificate, flagging his credit card, and starting the probate process, is there anything else I need to do immediately (in a financial/regulatory sense)?

I don’t think it will anytime soon. I’ve been in the trenches since a layoff in 2022, it’s only gotten worse. I was steadily getting interviews the first year and then it’s tapered off and now I’m begging for interviews for places I wouldn’t have even considered applying to before. I’m exhausted and starting to accept my career is over.
Sadly I’d expect more of the same pre and post holding company consolidation!
It has been such a night and day difference, feels like it has been 10 years but really only a few. Agree that the market will turn and eventually go back to decent offers and better benefits, pay, the works. Just a matter of making it work until then!
I dunno… all signs point to this being the new reality of our industry vs just a market swing. There are less agencies with less employees than ever. Market is massively oversupplied with talent.
This is about to be me. The -10% pay cut is going to hurt (but my toxic job is hurting more.)
