Would you say the clients are a range of sizes or predominantly larger corporations?
Growing REALLY fast, I have been pretty extensively working in the practice and it seems we are consistently winning more work - also a huge site of Firm investment. Energy we definitely dominate but Sustainability still catching up to BCG (which it seems we will do soon from what I’ve seen).
No academic background necessary at all! I have 0 myself. And yeah it is a growing practice so I’ve seen a steady flow of experienced hires.
I work in the Climate & Sustainability practice. Yes, we’re super passionate and serious about the work we do. We have an excellent set of clients and we help them fully integrate social impact. I believe we’re leading here out of MBB

Some fantastic and high impact work I’ve seen first hand for our clients in London - we actually have separate Energy and Climate & Sustainability practices now, and C&S has grown rapidly with lots of momentum still right now.
We have some really great initiatives in the firm to be ring fenced in this area for a period of time and become a real topic expert.
What are some differences in the practices?
I don't work at MBB, so can't say about them.
However, as an SC, I can say that decarbonization, net zero, and SBT are the next thing, and companies are becoming/pretending to be passionate about these. In the worst case, this passion is fueled by the need to have positive PR or differentiate themselves from competitors or both.
Thus, MBB must be working with clients who are working towards similar corporate target settings.
BCG3, obviously BGC does serious work and is not fake. I don't think you need to prove that. 😀
Really like the work we do in this space, but more importantly the people as they really care about this topic.
Did a lot of PE projects and I know passionate people there too, but for many it’s the best way to get into a PE and they don’t enjoy DDs.
In sustainability people don’t do it because of the exit opportunities but because they want to make a change
