Hi all, recently in touch by Spotify recruiter for a Sec Engineer position for remote EU and was told that range was 60-80 out of base salary and equity. Had 2 years of security experience out of my 4 years. Was also told that there is no bonus scheme or no sign in bonus 😕 Not sure how I feel about this tbh.
What do you think?

If they are asking if you already took the other offer it is because they already know.
Remember, they will likely call your references and confirm date of termination. I would suggest you don’t lie. Tell them the truth. If they really want you, they will make things happen. If they don’t then they will wish you good luck in your new job 😊

Yes, karma is karma. Great advice.
Thanks!
It might be tempting, but if I was in your shoes, I'd tell the other agency, "Thank you so much. Let's stay in touch."
For all you know, they could be your next employer in 1-3 years. It's not that long to wait.
And in the meantime, make the most out of the opportunity you've currently accepted. Your new shop wanted you (presumably over other candidates). They think you can bring something great to the table. So get after it!
I've been in these shoes, and ended up in the second shop a few years later. 100% agree.
It's a very small industry. Think hard before you do this. There are valid reasons to, but it's a startlingly small industry

Thanks for the advice CD1 and SVP1
When I’m looking at Airbnb reviews, I can ignore a couple bad ones. But if there is one that says “the host cancelled the reservation 2 days before arrival. This is an automatic posting.” I never stay there.
This somehow applies to your situation.
But in his situation, wouldnt the host be canceling after you’ve come in and put your bags down because there was someone else who made the same offer, but offered to do a deep clean before they go?
I do a lot of shit I don’t want to do simply because I said so. Being able to point to my word is important. I think you gotta pass and stick with the place you just accepted the job from.
You’ll be burning a bridge, but you can leave it off you resume. It’s not the end of the world, but I’d only do it for a significantly better job.
I wouldn’t do it. If they misled u, if they did something wrong maybe. If you simply mismanaged the job hunt, you’re gonna make enemies and detractors. If I was thinking about hiring someone, and checked my network, and was told by a colleague “that person accepted a job here and left after a few days because another job seemed better,” I def wouldn’t consider that candidate. And I’d likely tell my network the story if asked about that person.

Noted.
Yes, I want to be mindful
Honestly if you like the other offer more take it. It’ll suck for like a day and then they’ll go and hire someone else. It’s not personal.

Thx for your advice
this happened to me once - kid accepted, then quit the night before his first day. 8 years later and I'm still not over it

Thank you, everyone!!
I told them the truth. Figured that if they really wanted me, they’d work out a way. If they didn’t want me as much, they’d wish me good luck. They did the latter.
I managed to tell them that I’d love to keep in touch. Will actually try to connect with the hiring mgr so that they know (I want to make sure they know I was interested, in case the recruiter just tells them I withdrew my candidacy)

I’m torn because on one hand, companies don’t give a flying fuck about us when push comes to shove. On the other hand, word is bond and I dislike it when there are flaky indecisive people who pull shit like this. So it’s a toss up.
Great people > everything.

Also, ppl offering the job are asking if i took the other offer (my current job). Should i tell them?
Background: they know because I negotiated then, but these guys had a slower hiring process and took a while to make the offer
whatever you chose, recommend me to the other (;

Don’t do it unless it’s a step change in your career at the other place.
Take the confidence that they made you an offer and channel it into your woek
yeah it's an inconvenience for them sure, but this is your life yknow
do what you gotta do :)

Good choice. I hope you know you did the right thing and that it will come back around in the form of good juju.
100% agree that you should proceed wisely as you will likely be burning a bridge. It’s an unbelievably small world in this industry (everyone has at least 3rd party connections), speaking as someone from NY. Esp at AD level, people remember these things
This happened to a team at my office, albeit, it was a planner who started and left about a week later because she received a “better package” elsewhere (still can’t believe she had the gall to say that). Pretty sure she’s blacklisted at our agency now, sooooo that’s a thing
Besides better benefits and reputable company is the second offer a better position?
