Very large...you might not even get a job if you go to Wharton. So basically, if you dont get into Harvard you’re most likely to have to settle for Taco Bell drive thru..

I think it’s significant enough to justify paying sticker price to HBS. The network is more valuable imo
I personally wouldn’t go to Wharton. I think you’re increasingly seeing an H/S or I’ll do something else mentality from MBB. Just my anecdotal, not fact based two cents.
Coming from someone at Accenture 👀
I think you need to clarify what delta you’re trying to assess. Job opportunities? Network? Caliber of classmates? Admissions stats? Answer would be different for each of those areas
Are you a robot with no social skills that strictly relies on your numbers to get in the door to jobs? Then maybe yes theres a tiny difference.
For MBB it’s a big gap but not enough to not go at all imo. Wharton is still fantastic
From PE/VC though, going to non-H/S program can actually hurt your brand depending on your goals
There’s a logical flaw here, I’m sure if you network right you can end up at VC/PE post Mbb/IB after Wharton but BCG3 is right I’m p sure gsb/hbs is primarily the way for direct hire out of b school

Wow there are a lot of “HBS and GSB or bust” snobs on here... (not including the ironic ones)
I’m going to W in the fall and have seen at least a dozen MBBers in my class so far. Some want PE/VC, while others want to pursue specialization such as Healthcare or Consumer (btw, W is very strong in Healthcare).
If you really want PE/VC - at the end of the day, the school you go to will help you but it’s still up to you during recruiting time. Maybe HSB and GSB have better access to recruiters but it’s not like the top funds haven’t interviewed at W. And there are plenty of PEs that will hire, maybe not some of the mega funds (but the culture at those suck anyways...would you really want to be a slave at Apollo/KKR?)
H and S are above the rest
Taking this a step further, is there a significant difference in quality between Wharton and the rest of M7 (Sloan, Booth, Kellogg, CBS)?
I think on the margins Wharton provides a broader set of opportunities and access to the “most prestigious” career paths.
For example, If you want to go to PE/VC, students at Wharton performed much better (bigger class size and 15% took jobs in PE/VC vs 8% at Booth, for example).
For traditional tracks (consulting/IB), think it’s all the same.
