How do folks like working at Cognizant? I’ve gotten a reach out about a senior role there. I’ve heard some less than positive things about the culture so would appreciate any thoughts / experiences that folks would be willing to share!

They suck… offshore heavy and very very cost conscious and lack luster talent in senior roles

I started my career at CTS. I'm westernized South Asian (not Indian), but all my colleagues (95% Indian born and raised) had some implicit bias against me. Constant tea breaks about me keeping the culture, It personally wasn't a good cultural fit.

In addition, tedious and boring engagements, poor benefits, laughable bonuses, incredibly hierarchical with several levels between senior associate to director.

Yo OP, if the are paying you good $ then I could say the upper leadership is trying hard to turn around the company. But if the are paying u so so , go somewhere else. Work wise it has a chill working atmosphere.

They’re trying to change to culture, but that’s really difficult when it’s ingrained in all of their systems. I think people in D+ roles are generally happier than those in lower grade roles.

Hi guys,

I need genuine suggestions. I was holding offer from IBM and Wipro & now have got a good offer from a mid size organization.
I want to negotiate with IBM and Wipro & join any of these two.

Do these companies negotiate? When & how should I start negotiation with them ?

I would like to talk professionally so that they provide me a matching CTC or in case, they can't at least they don't block me for future openings.

Please suggest, if anyone can share their experiences.

Hi all!
My mother in law got scammed by a con artist from the UK online and lost $7K (damn you Facebook!)

Her status in the US is currently complicated and she doesn’t have a green card(tho she’s working on it), my wife(her daughter) is American.

I want to report this to the FBI’s elder fraud department but I don’t want to complicate her situation even more.

Does anyone know if criminal stuff like this and immigration related things are separated?

One of the reasons I want to transition from industry to consulting (tier 1) is that I get frustrated when I have to collaborate with mediocre people. My assumption is that Tier 1 consulting firms hire really sharp people and if I can get in, I’ll be collaborating with folks on top of their game (not expecting much from clients). I’m aware there are personal aspects I need to work on like my mindset, patience etc etc, but I just get so frustrated with blatant stupidity.
