How do you deal with a manager who micromanages? I have some cool ones, but there’s this one lady who acts like she’s standing over my head with a sword, ready to strike if I slip up. Working on bank claims takes focus, you need time to think and avoid mistakes. The moment I put a customer on hold for over three minutes, she pings me to refresh them. I know my job, but can’t I take a few extra seconds? It’s so frustrating to feel constantly watched.

What’s your take on such managers?

Do you ever wish you could just go home at 6, play with your kids till they fall asleep, and then have a glass of wine with your wife before an early bedtime & sleep 8 hours?

Anyone know much about Simon-Kucher? I have an offer for SC there for $125k base with all-in TC for the year expected $165-175k. Currently a CO with 3-4 YOE, and considering making the move. I think CO at my firm is the equivalent to SC at B4

getting asked for discounts constantly when they know its a hard " no " but keeps asking is crazy to me

Back when I was getting started in the food world, I worked flipping burgers at In-n-Out. A man came in and said the burgers he had gotten weren’t right. He dumped the food on the counter and then he started throwing them back behind the counter. We gave him a refund and then his demeanor completely changed. He was calmer and he told us to have a great day as he left us to clean up the mess he made.

At a different job I had a customer trying to swindle me in telling me that there was a deal in an item that never had a deal or promotion for sale so he made me scan the item 20 times before believing me. Obviously, he finally let it go but I scan it with an inventory scanner that showed me all of the sale price promotions if there were any
