How do you find purpose in life when working full time? I feel like after work I just want to go straight to bed and I’m just living to work at this point. Any tips to find meaning?

It is definitely draining to work a full-time position, and I also collapse by the end of the day. I have a few things that help me stay grounded, but the one I treasure the most is making sure to do at least one thing each week that I'm really passionate about. Lately, for me, that has been painting, and I do it a little bit every day. It helps me see that every day is not the same and that I'm making progress in life, and gives me something simple to look forward to.

I try to spend as much time outside and off my phone. Really makes feel like time outside of work slows down.

I think it's important to come at this with a sense of gratitude. Most of us are making a decent living, and we can make time to do things that would give us purpose, and I know I'm thankful for that. There are so many things one can do, you can devote yourself to your family, to a hobby, to charitable pursuits, to creating art, and on and on. It's just a matter of pushing yourself to follow whatever your inspirations and concerns might be.

I totally get that. It’s so easy to feel drained after a full workday. What’s helped me is carving out even small things I look forward to outside of work—like a hobby, catching up with a friend, or just getting outside for a walk. It doesn’t have to be huge, but those little things make life feel less like it’s all about work.

I personally have a side hustle which gives me hope that I can one day do that full time, or at least part time alongside a finance related part time job instead of full time. I also love spending my free time doing whatever I feel like, whether it be a bike ride, seeing my friends, or sitting and doing absolutely nothing! I do love the outdoors, so even getting out when it’s raining does me wonders

I FEEL this!!
I make sure I get to the gym every day but I feel like I live to work and that's all I do.
Work or meal prep and laundry to get ready to go to work 😭

Getting a hobby besides scrolling on my phone for hours until bed. Try and make a plan for a weekday once in a while. That was hard for me, but it helps break up the work week.

No more screen time before or after work. It was a habit that took me a long time to break but it is so worth it. I don't watch any TV, I very rarely check in on social media, and I don't play on any mobile apps or anything like that. It means that my time outside of work can be spent in the present moment and doing the things that I enjoy. Lots of exercise, socializing, and hobbies.

Hey beautiful people,
I’m 27Y and work in tech. Unfortunately my carpal tunnel is getting worst slowly. I’m worry that I still have like 45 years more to be retired and can’t stop working because I have a f* mortgage to pay 😭 I have a super ergonomic workstation, but I know my hand needs a long rest, and I can’t do it… Does anyone relate? What do you recommend?

Just got a freelance gig for $1250 for 2 shoot days, but they’re asking for hourly rate for prep days. Not sure what rate to give them & if I should base it on a 10 or 12 hr hourly rate. It’s LA based & content/digital production. I’m not a fan of hourly rates, but I don’t want to lose the gig or end up agreeing to less days than I actually end up working..

I am trying to justify house buying in HCOL city. The house cost is minimum 1.4m .monthly mortgage would be at least 7k(with just around 2k principal) rest goes to either int, tax. Not to mention regular house maintenance. How is it better than 3.5k rental. I understand appreciation and own house independence. But I am just trying to make numbers work.
